Dick Meek opened his first studio in Richmond, Indiana doing portrait and commercial photography for six years before coming to New York City to work for Victor Keppler a top advertising photographer. A few years later he joined the staff at Life magazine. As a Time Inc. staff photographer, Dick got involved in the pre-publication work that became Sports Illustrated Magazine. |

Dick served as one of three original staff photographers for four years and turned freelance armed with a contract from Time Inc. He has worked for Sports Illustrated, Time, Life, and People magazines; also Time-Life Books and Time, Inc. Corporate. As a freelancer he has also worked for American Home, Holiday, Saturday Evening Post, This Week, and many advertising agencies including Ogilvy, Y&R, and BBD&O. He has also done annual reports directly for IBM and Cummins Engine. |
